Fluency/Stuttering

Stuttering occurs when a person has a disrupted fluency in their speech. Speech pathologists are well known in the community for working with children and adults who stutter. Although stuttering is commonly identified as repeated syllables or words, there are other behaviours which can accompany this such as facial grimacing, movements of the body and excessive blinking when having a moment of stuttering. There are different levels of severity in stuttering.

Our speech pathology team recognise the frustrations and concerns people who stutter have and strive to support them to achieve smooth speech. Our team can guide you to the appropriate program to assist with fluency and give you some other strategies to help to support you.
