About the business

Raymond Terrace Therapy provides a multidisciplinary team approach. Our clinic is located inside Capital Chemist Raymond Terrace, we offer clinic, home and community consultation. Our services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, dietetics and building consultations for home modifications. Allied health assistants also work within the team. Within our facility we have six clinic rooms, a sensory room, an exercise therapy room and office space.

Situated within the community, we provide services to all walks of life, from paediatrics to geriatrics. We are a NDIS registered provider and provide early intervention and capacity building services to all ages.

We also have our rural clinic “Outback Therapy”, which we support on a regular basis. This is not a requirement of our staff, however there is opportunity to explore rural health outreach for those who are interested.

Raymond Terrace is a service hub set on the banks of the Hunter River, attracting visitors and providing services to local Port Stephens residents and surrounding communities. Raymond Terrace is a town in the Hunter Region, about 25km (by road) north of Newcastle and 20 minutes to Newcastle Airport. 

About the role

We are interested in speaking with all levels of experience:

  • New graduate Occupational Therapist
  • Experienced Occupational Therapist

As a new graduate or an experienced Occupational Therapist you will join our private practice and provide clinical services within our Raymond Terrace Therapy clinic. This role will support the provision of Occupational Therapy services with a strong focus on paediatric clients. Our Occupational Therapy team consists of a variety of skills and experience.

The role will support the provision of Occupational Therapy services within the clinic, use of clinic rooms, sensory space and in the community. We have a fleet of company cars to access the community, whether this is a school, preschool or a client’s home.

You will develop your ability to provide a comprehensive range of assessments and interventions for individuals living with mild to complex needs. Our practice has a large variety of standardised assessments on hand to aid in assessment and outcome (Beery, BOT, M-FUN, Peabody, Vineland, Sensory Profile and more!)

Essential criteria:

  • Bachelor degree or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience with paediatric occupational therapy services: Early Intervention (0-7), Childhood, Adolescents and young Adults
  • Professional Indemnity insurance
  • Working with Children check
  • Police check
  • Valid driver’s license
  • First Aid

Desirable criteria

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team to support the delivery of safe, efficient and high quality care to patients.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of NDIS practice standards
  • Information Technology competence: e.g. Google Suite and practice management system skills (Our practice software is Cliniko)
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Experience with assessments (Beery, BOT, M-FUN, Peabody, Vineland, Sensory Profile)
